Abstract
Investigators of childhood asthma often wish to add a psychologic or behavioral instrument to their studies but are uncertain as to the best measure to use. The present review describes a number of valid and reliable instruments that can be employed to assess general and specific personality characteristics, intelligence, achievement, and neuropsychologic functions. Specific instruments are described, as well as reasons why such instruments should be considered by investigators. The addresses of the publishers of most of the instruments are noted in an Appendix. Keywords
