Abstract
Magnetization measurements have been made on (Y1−xSmx)2 Fe14B compounds with x≤0.1 over the temperature range from 1.5 K to room temperature. The c axis is the easy magnetization direction for pure Y2Fe14B at all temperatures, reflecting the anisotropy of the Fe sublattice. X‐ray diffraction analyses on aligned powders indicate that all samples studied have easy magnetization direction parallel to the c axis at room temperature. The addition of Sm results in a decrease of anisotropy at room temperature. At low temperatures it induces a spin reorientation in all systems studied. A transition to planar anisotropy is observed for x=0.08 and 0.1.This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
