Abstract
Two experimental evaporations of Chari-river waters (Chad) were performed, the first one in presence of suspended material carried by the river, the other one after décantation. The behaviour of calcium, magnesium and silica in solution are quite different in the two cases. The formation of magnesian calcite, amorphous silica and amorphous magnesium-bearing silicates is observed. The conditions of formation of calcareous and silico-magnesian parageneses are discussed.
