INFLUENCE OF ORGAN CULTURE ON THE SURVIVAL OF MAJOR HISTOCOMPATIBILITY COMPLEX-COMPATIBLE AND INCOMPATIBLE PARATHYROID ALLOGRAFTS IN RATS

Abstract
The survival of freshly excised and cultured Lewis and ACI rat parathyroid glands has been compared in Fischer hosts. The results indicate that while culturing the major histocompatibility complex (MHC-incompatible) ACI glands in an O2-enriched environment significantly enhances their survival, this is not the case with the MHC-compatible Lewis glands.
