Abstract
Summary Twenty patients with amebic ulcerative proctitis were treated with metronidazole. The rate of cure was 90 per cent. Metronidazole caused slight side-effects in 15 per cent of the patients. The authors believe that the optimal treatment schedule is 800 mg three times a day for 20 days. Keywords
