Abstract
Inter‐state income differentials have been the object of considerable interest in recent years. The magnitude of these differentials, the way in which they change over time, and the basis of such changes have all been analysed. Hanna [1959], Perloff [1960] and Easterlin [1960] have studied these for the United States, and Hansen [1967] for France. Williamson [1965] has brought together many such studies for different countries and made international comparisons of regional experiences. The importance of such studies has been stressed by Meyer [1965]. This Note is a study on similar lines for India. Keywords
