Abstract
Pure cultures of Archangium primigenium and A. gephyra were grown on partially-defined chemical media which included carbohydrates (galactose, starch, raffinose, sucrose and dextrin), casein-hydrolysate and agar. Isolation procedures involving the use of 8 antibiotics were given (most reliable was penicillin G, 1-10 U/ml of medium). Optimum temperatures for vegetative growth, fruiting body germination and fruiting body formation were near 30-32 C. Fruiting body resistance and deviation to temperature and humidity were noted. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
