Abstract
In this paper, a continuous-time model of a production-inventory system which includes an allowance for the stimulation of sales by advertising is considered. It is shown that the theory of tracking systems can be used for the synthesis of control policies such that the system outputs always tend towards the managerial command inputs at a predetermined rate. The theory is illustrated by the presentation of the results of computer-simulation studies of the response of a particular system of this class to typical command inputs. Keywords
