Abstract
Appropriately aged and marked Hylemya antiqua (Meigen) adults released in a 0.8-ha onion field dispersed slowly. Of 2,956 adults released, 38% were recaptured within 6 days on yellow sticky traps baited with lacerated whole onions. Results indicated that properly preconditioned laboratory-reared H. antiqua can be effectively used in bait preference studies in the field.
