Determination of the $ρ$ -Meson-Nucleon Cross Section from Elastic $ρ$ Photoproduction on Deuterium

Abstract

The cross section for

γ + d \to ρ^{0} + d

has been measured at 6, 12, and 18 GeV for

t

between -0.15

{(G e V / c)}^{2}

and -1.4

{(G e V / c)}^{2}

. From these measurements the total and differential

ρ^{0}

-nucleon cross sections have been determined together with

\frac{γ_{ρ}^{2}}{4 π}

.
