Abstract
Young human males were required to perform a compensatory pursuit task under 3 different oxygen-nitrogen respiratory mixtures and under placebo and dextro-amphetamine medication. Significant oxygen and drug enhancements and decrements of performance were found. "Increase in physiological costs attributable to the energizing properties of this analeptic must be insignificant extent. This suggests that the efficacy of d-amphet-amine is almost wholly derived from its facilitative effects upon the physiological correlates of alertness.".Keywords
