Abstract
Calcium balance, 47Ca blood bone dynamics and renal function studies were carried out on five patients with idiopathic hypercalciuria. All five patients were in negative calcium balance with normal faecal excretion. All five patients had blood-bone 47Ca. dynamics and maximal tubular reabsorption rates for phosphate not dissimilar to patients with hyperparathyroidism. Evidence of altered bone handling of calcium in the disorder is presented. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
