Abstract
Xenon spatial flux oscillations can be an operational problem in large reactors operating at high power levels. Empirical experience in controlling such oscillations in Savannah River Plant reactors and in the Shippingport reactor are described. Recent calculation methods are reviewed, with emphasis on digital simulation of reactor performance including explicit representation of control systems and strategies. Keywords
