Fluoride Uptake by Root Dentin after Immersion in 2% NaF Solution with Iontophoresis

Abstract
The F- concentrations in the surface and subsurface layers of the iontophoretically-treated group were significantly higher than those of the group treated by topical application only. Saline immersion for 24 h resulted in an appreciable decrease in the acquired F- in both layers, but the residual F- concentrations of the iontophoretically treated group remained significantly higher than those of the group treated by topical application only.
