Abstract
The effectiveness of orally administered naproxen in the treatment of acute gout was assessed in an open study of twelve patients given the drug in known amounts for a preset period of time. The patients were selected in part from admissions to Harborview Medical Center, an affiliated hospital of the University of Washington, and from a private rheumatology practice. The patients were primarily older males who had well-established diagnoses of gout and who had had several prior episodes managed with a variety of anti-inflammatory regimens. Keywords
