TiBe2, a test material for spin-fluctuation theories

Abstract
Precise magnetic susceptibility measurements for TiBe2 indicate that χ(H,T=0) and χ(T,H=0) vary initially like H2 and T2, in formal agreement with the "paramagnon" model. Logarithmic terms H2lnH and TlnT are found to be inadequate. There is apparently a discontinuity in the low-temperature differential susceptibility at H55 kOe, which may be indicative of a spin-density wave.
