Abstract
A correlation of 0.82 was obtained between the chemically determined protein mass of one-half of the dressed carcass and the Cr51-determined red-cell volume of the live animal prior to slaughter, using ten Berkshire pigs (5 males and 5 females) slaughtered in a weight range of 190 to 246 lb. Application of this method to in vivo measurement of body lean has been discussed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
