Abstract
A comparison between a mean-field theory of superfluoresence and a recent experiment can be made only with some caution regarding the preparation of the system and the value of the loss parameter. Quantitative agreement can be found provided the loss parameter is not taken literally to be but rather is fixed by fitting the experimental data.
