Abstract
The drift velocity and longitudinal diffusion coefficient of electrons in argon were measured over the range of E/N from 0.25 to 50 Td at room temperature by a double-shutter drift tube with variable drift distance. A momentum transfer cross section for the argon atom which was consistent with both of the present electron swarm parameters was derived over the range of electron energy from 2.5 to 15 eV.Keywords
