Abstract
A woman with patent ductus arteriosus had the typical Gibson murmur when first seen at the age of 30 years. Eight and a half years later no murmur was audible and pulmonary hypertension was established. She died and at post-mortem there were changes in the pulmonary arteries usually associated with acquired severe pulmonary hypertension. Keywords
