Abstract
The signal-reinforcement effect (SRE) found by Biederman and Furedy (1970) only for modifiable shocks is important for interpreting the preference-for-signaled-shock phenomenon. The effect was re-examined with 18 Ss, and occurred reliably but only during the last 2 hr. of an 8-hr. test period. Keywords
