Abstract
Previous studies were directed toward the elucidation of the H- and L-chain variable region structures of antibodies raised in A/J mice to the p-azophenylarsonate (Ar) hapten, some of which bear a cross-reacting idiotype. An analysis of anti-Ar antibodies that arise in A/J mice suppressed for a cross-reacting idiotype was described. When an idiotype is suppressed and the animal subsequently hyperimmunized, the resultant antibodies may be deviated into different V [variable] region subgroups in the H- and L-polypeptide chains. The 1st primary structural analysis of a humoral immune response that was manipulated by an idiotypic reagent was presented. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
