Abstract
In the procedures of Newburgh and Johnston for the calculation of water balances separate calculations of CO2 and water produced and O2 consumed in the combustion of food stuffs are unnecessary. The balances of New-burgh and Johnston have been transformed into equations which simplify calculations of the water exchange.
