Abstract
The present report describes a bidirectional mechanical stimulation technique of cristae ampullares in the cat. Bimodal field potentials are seen in the vestibular nerve and nucleus after an excitatory stimulus. This technique should allow an in vivo and selective study of the vestibular receptors in mammals. Keywords
