Abstract
A novel polar delta-sigma modulation (PDSM) architecture that is suited for polar transmitters is proposed. The PDSM solves the noise convolution problem of existing envelope Delta-Sigma modulation techniques and it can provide robust in-band signal to noise performance with a moderate oversampling rate. The approach is expected find applications in high efficiency polar transmitters. Simulations with WCDMA downlink waveforms has validated the proposed concept. Keywords
