Abstract
Most deaf people do not suffer from mental disorders, but not much is heard about this group. Recent investigations confirm earlier hypotheses that severe mental disorders in those who have been deaf since early childhood are primarily found where the deafness has occurred in connection with some brain disease, and that it is the brain lesion which has caused the mental disorder. Keywords
