Glare and the Scatter of Light in the Vitreous

Abstract
Ninety patients who had previous retinal detachment surgery involving diathermy were studied for sensitivity to scotomatic glare and were examined for vitreous turbidity. A positive correlation is demonstrated between the level of illumination required for recognition of a target in the presence of a glare source and the scatter of light in the vitreous.
