Abstract
IN a small fraction of patients with pulmonary hypertension detailed clinical, hemodynamic and histologic examinations do not uncover a specific cause, and such patients are considered to suffer from primary pulmonary hypertension. Several observers have suggested that a familial form of this disease exists,1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and it is the purpose of this report to describe a kindred in which 5 members in three generations had primary pulmonary hypertension.
