Abstract
The crystal structure of the two spirocyclic diazadiphosphetidines (Me2C2O2)(Me2N)2P2N2(SiMe3)2 (1) and (Me2C2O2)2(Me2N)2P2N2(SiMe3)2 (2) were determined. In both compounds the dimethylamino groups are arranged in a cisposition with respect to the plane of the four-membered ring. There are no unusually long PN distances in the four-membered ring of 2, although 2 monomerizes easily and quantitatively at room temperature to give 3.
