Abstract
Nasal washings from mild respiratory infections have yielded several agents, all .similar in their effects in monkey kidney culture. Rises in neutralization titer to the prototype, 2060, followed each episode. Similar increases were noted in 2 groups of recruits under study. Randomly selected children''s sera, together with pooled human gamma globulin demonstrated neutralizing antibody. The agents were filterable, relatively stable and produced the characteristic slowly progressive cytopathology in human embryonic kidney and monkey testis cultures. Effects were not noted in other tissues or hosts. Evidence is presented suggesting that these agents were not previously described. Keywords
