On the behaviour of enthalpy probes in fluctuating temperature environments

Abstract
It is shown that the manner in which enthalpy probes average temperature inhomogeneities gives rise to large deviations from the true mean. The dependence of the deviation on the flow régime can be used to obtain a better approximation as well as a measure of the extent of `unmixedness'.Keywords
