Abstract
Summary: This study explores the use of ultrasound in the management of patients with portacaval anastomosis. Ten patients were studied; in 8 of these the status of the anastomosis was well demonstrated. It is suggested that ultrasound should be the initial investigation to determine the patency of a shunt. Keywords
