CORTONE IN LYMPHOBLASTOMA: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
Disease of two yrs. duration in a male, age 48; diagnosis proved by gland biopsy; treated with deep therapy X-ray, nitrogen mustard, and repeated transfusions; had progressed to its terminal phase. Patient''s weight was 90 lbs.; R.B.C. 1,200,000; severe bone pains; dehydrated; and practically moribund. Cortone in large, frequent doses produced a remarkable remission, and case was able to return to full work in 2 mos. No transfusions were given; R.B.C. returned to normal; weight gain was 40 lbs.; glands and spleen returned to normal. To-date 6 mos. later, good health has continued with normal blood counts and blood chemistry. Cortone is still being given orally in 50 mg. doses daily. There is no evidence or physical sign or X-ray proof of lymphoblastoma.
