ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION TO ALCURONIUM

Abstract
A 51–year-old female patient reacted in a hypersensitive manner to intravenous iodipamide (Biligrafin), alcuronium and ampicillin, although there was no history of previous exposure to any of these drugs. It appears that some individuals are more prone to development of anaphylactic reactions than others. It is suggested that if a patient gives a history of reaction to a drug, means and drugs for resuscitation must be fully prepared in advance before any future drug therapy is to begin, so that prompt treatment may be possible, thus averting a dangerous outcome.
