Abstract
In the United States, pancreatic cancer is the fifth most common cause of death due to cancer.1 Because it is difficult to diagnose and tumors are usually detected after they have metastasized,2 the prognosis for pancreatic cancer is poor. Therefore, identification of risk factors amenable to modification could have a marked impact on reducing pancreatic cancer morbidity and mortality.
