Abstract
60 strains of Bacteroides fragilis were characterized by biochemical tests and by gaschromatographic analysis. In antibiotic sensitivity testing all strains were relatively resistant to β-lactamantibiotics, and many were resistant to tetracyclines. Of all the antibacterial drugs tested, clindamycin, chloramphenicol, tinidazole and metronidazole possessed the best activity. Keywords
