Abstract
The procedure for obtaining the local average power (also called local mean) of a mobile radio signal is described. The measured length of a mobile radio signal necessary to obtain the local average power is determined to be in the range of 20 to 40 wavelengths. It is based on the Rayleigh distribution. The sufficient number of samples for estimating the local average power values is about 36. It is based on a 90 percent confidence interval and less than 1 dB error in estimate. This procedure of estimate can be treated as a standard procedure.Keywords
