Abstract

On the basis of hydrogen elimination at C-24 during biosynthesis of stigmasterol in tissue cultures of N. tabacum and D. tokoro, the Δ²⁴⁽²⁵⁾ compound as an intermediate is involved in stigmasterol biosynthesis.
