Abstract
Electrokinetic potentials of stainless steel in , , and solutions have been measured by the streaming current technique. Negative zeta potentials are obtained in and in low acid concentrations. Isoelectric acid concentrations occur between 10−4 and 10−3 N. At higher concentrations positive potentials are obtained. adsorbs irreversibly at its isoelectric concentration of 10−3M as evidenced by the inability of water washing to return the sample to its original negative zeta potential. Keywords
