A method is described for determining Cu, Zn, Co, and Pb in soils and soil solns. The detns. are based on the fact that each of these 4 elements belongs to a group of metals known to react with dithizone, under certain conditions, to form colored compounds when dissolved in CCl4 or chloroform.
