Abstract
This contribution argues that there are no insuperable conceptual obstacles to regarding animals as capable of moral behavior. Although there are accounts of moral action that would preclude animals acting on the basis of moral motivations, there are other accounts that are entirely compatible with this possibility. After identifying each type of account, the contribution presents some arguments in favor of the latter. Keywords
