Effects of Adrenaline Administration on Platelet MAO of Anxious and Normal Subjects

Abstract
Epinephrine was administered to anxious and normal human subjects and levels of plasma epinephrine, norepinephrine and platelet monoamine oxidase were determined. Plasma catecholamines were elevated and monoamine oxidase remained unchanged in both groups, though no significant differences were observed between the groups in these responses to epinephrine injection. Differences between acute and chronic anxiety are discussed.
