Abstract
This paper looks at the rationale developed by one Head of Department (hod) to tackle his management problems and at the scheme he devised to implement his ideas. How the scheme of staff development worked is described, and an attempt is made to evaluate the success of the scheme by looking at involved teachers’ career opportunities.Keywords
