Abstract
The measurement of plasma Hb is utilized in the evaluation of various [human] hemolytic disorders. The advantages of a direct spectrophotometric scanning technique for determination of plasma Hb is illustrated. This method does not require the use of carcinogenic reagents. The scanning method demonstrates linearity, precision, and sensitivity suitable for clinical use and is not affected by the presence of bilirubin.
