Abstract
To the Editor: A recent paper1 gives an account of 14 cases of lung cancer attributed to exposure to methyl chloromethyl ether (CMME). Much of the information reported was hearsay furnished by one "fellow worker," and the paper contains many errors both of fact and of interpretation. Although the company supplied the authors with full information, it was not used. Instead, the statement was made that "estimates on duration of exposure to CMME were obtained from Case 14 since company management was unable to provide this information."
