Abstract
Four patients in whom visible excretion of opaque medium by the kidneys after Gastrografin was given by mouth are described. This was wrongly interpreted as indicating perforation of the bowel. In 1 case there was ulceration of the colon, but in 3 there was no evidence of breach of the mucosa. The unreliability of this sign as indicating perforation of the bowel is discussed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
