Abstract
Antisera of high specificity have been produced against thymic and bursal lymphocytes in the chicken. By the in ovo administration of the antibodies directed against central lymphoid tissues, further evidence has been demonstrated for the functional dichotomy of the immune system in the chicken by the selective inhibition of immunologic function of thymus or bursa of Fabricius. A model system for human sex-linked agammaglobulinemia and thymic aplasia can be developed in the chicken by the selective inhibition of central lymphoid organs through the use of specific antilymphocytic globulin.
