Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the global instability of a needle crystal growth. It is shown that in the solidification system there exists a simple turning point, which plays a central role for the formation of self-sustaining dendritic structure of a growing needle crystal. A most remarkable signal reflection and wave-emission mechanism at the turning point is explored. Keywords
