Abstract
This virus, on heating, may lose infec-tivity without precipitation or loss of serol. activity at a rate varying with the temp. and pH. The temp. coeff. for loss of infectivity is small and for loss of serol. activity is large. Non-infective virus could not be separated from infective virus by fractional crystallization. The rate of inactivation by freezing is increased by increasing virus conc. and acidity. Salts and colloids protect the virus from inactivation, the efficiency of particular salts depending on the salt:ice:water eutectic temp. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
