Abstract
The effect on the spinal cord filling the greater part of the spinal subarachnoid space with Kontrast U 20% has been studied under experimental conditions in dogs. It was found that the incidence and severity of the spinal cord lesions could be increased by lowering the blood pressure after injection and by the previous intravenous injection of hypotonic saline. Subarachnoid injection of saline solution isotonic with the contrast medium was found to produce spinal cord lesions of the same type as did the contrast medium. Keywords
